Directions

You should fly into the centrally located Governor’s Harbor Airport, not North Eleuthera. Air service to Eleuthera changes a lot, and you are responsible for making your own travel arrangements. US Air has daily flights from Miami, taking just over 1 hour. Twin Air have smaller planes flying from Fort Lauderdale Jet Center, 1 pm on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays, 9 am on Wednesdays. Their number is 954 359 8266. Air Sunshine (800 327 8900) has flights on tuesdays and Thursdays (leaving Lauderdale at 1.30 pm, returning at 10 am). Lynx Air also flies (see where is Eleuthera). There are also flights from Nassau (on Bahamas Air, and on Southern Air, phone 242 323 7217), as well as a fast ferry. Major's Air (242 352 5778) has direct flights from Freeport (Grand Bahama) to Governor's Harbour on friday and sunday. For further information see where is Eleuthera?.

From Governor’s Harbor Airport drive south along Queen’s Highway to Governor’s Harbour (about 15 minutes) and then continue south to the crossroads in Palmetto Point where you will see Sand’s Store. Turn left here (i.e. East) into North Palmetto Point, and continue till you arrive at a T-junction, under an immense 150 year old silk cotton tree (there is an even bigger one in the settlement), where you should turn right (i.e.south). This is Bank Road, also known as North Drive. Continue past the turn off to Unique Village Hotel and Restaurant. Soon the road will degenerate to a sandy track. Continue past various houses (Kokomo, Roundhouse, Tropical Impulse, Ocean Palm, Atlantic Blues) and you will suddenly arrive at a dramatic view of the Ocean – you have arrived!

You can also take the "scenic route" from Governor’s Harbor, by turning left up the hill at Pyfrom’s Liquor Store and continuing over to the Atlantic side, then turning south onto the Bank Road, which eventually reaches North Palmetto Point and the silk cotton tree.
